Platinum Corral

Overview

Platinum Corral came to Intelligent Technologies, Inc. when it decided to undertake an aggressive expansion program. Platinum realized that before these plans could be acted upon, it had to ensure that its internal accounting practices were running smoothly and efficiently. To help with this, ITI created a custom accounting solution capable of delivering daily reports containing comprehensive operational data early enough in the day to facilitate interdepartmental communication and improve operational control.

Key Results

Since implementing this unique solution, Platinum has won several awards and tripled its business volume, while only adding a single part time accountant to its staff.

North Carolina Association of County Commissioners

Overview

A fire broke out at a construction site next to the NCACC offices, leaving considerable damage in its wake. Luckily, the server running Dynamics GP was off-site. But, all the workstations used to access the system were water damaged and made useless, within a matter of minutes. Forced them to move to a new location where the Internet connection was just a little faster than dial up, getting their day-to-day work done was still causing the accounting team major headaches. With productivity spiraling out of control, NCACC realized this too was only a temporary solution. They were in desperate need of something to help them get operations back on track. So, Intelligent Technologies quickly moved NCACC to the HTML 5 web client for Dynamics GP.

Key Results

With it, they could be free from the constraints of only having Dynamics GP loaded on certain workstations. Instead, they would have access to it from any device. Finally, NCACC’s accounting software would catch up with most of their other systems that had already made the transition to the cloud.

BLD Brands

Overview

In 2017, with a plan to double his restaurant holdings through acquisitions, Pak hired Andy Gale, a longtime friend and CEO of numerous high-growth firms. They soon decided together, however, that the timing wasn’t right for Pak’s growth plan.
“We realized we just didn’t have the infrastructure that would allow us to reasonably absorb this acquisition,” says Gale, now BLD Brands’ CEO.

BLD Brands was running an unsupported version of Sage Pro and operating with eight different charters of accounts and four different accounting calendars as a result of prior acquisitions. Numerous intercompany transactions and consolidations made it challenging to bring them all into a single audited entity. In addition to running siloed accounting systems and three different point-of-sale systems, four people manually entered about 90,000 invoices a year.

Bringing those systems together required three in-house developers to create proprietary desktop and mobile applications that BLD used for managing communication and approvals, among other operations. Those applications pulled information from a data warehouse into which all financial data was then added.
“We needed a standardized platform and a good state-of-the-art ERP package to support business growth.”

  • Streamlined operations by eliminating data silos
  • Significantly reduced time to close month end to 5 days
